The People
“As principal and founding member of this establishment, I am very proud of all that we have achieved in the past 15 years. The service we provide to our valued customers is with genuine pleasure. We love what we do here at Design Gallery, enjoy the interaction with all, and work toward providing our services in a way to be of most value to our clients and their projects. The road I have taken to where we are today spans over 29 years. Starting as a tracer with BHP’s engineering department in Melbourne through to working for Myer in their store design department to being employed in a full design capacity with Kinney Shoes in Brisbane. I have had invaluable experiences and opportunities along the way, and have met some awesome people I had the pleasure to learn from.
The importance of good design in all its forms has inspired the start of this company, and today I am still striving to open people’s minds to the creation of the right ‘Space’.”

“Possessing a fascination for all inter-disciplinary facets of design, I graduated from the QLD University of Technology in 2005 with a Bachelor in Built Environment, majoring in Interior Design. After graduating I gained multi-residential design experience in a large Architectural firm, before finding my feet in the exciting & closer knit firm of Design Gallery in 2006.
I have since enjoyed the creative freedom at Design Gallery, and embraced the opportunity to continually expand my expertise as a designer.
I have gained a wealth of experience in the past 5 years, collaborating on a fantastic array of retail, hospitality & commercial projects, to create innovative, functional & engaging spaces.”

“I grew up in Japan, where old traditions combine with the latest technology and trends. In 1987 I packed up my bags and moved to Sydney where I worked as a jewellery designer, an industry I remained in for 16 years. A sea change move led me to Queensland and a new career challenge; this encouraged me to obtain a Diploma of Interior Technology which I completed in 2006.I have enjoyed the journey that has taken me to where I am today, and I love working at Design Gallery. We have an ideal environment and a great team of people, allowing us to be as creative as we can in every way.”

“After discovering a passion for all things creative, I completed a Bachelor of Design, majoring in Interior Design, with honours at QUT in 2010. I have gained experience in many facets of design, spanning high density + low density residential, commercial, retail and property styling. I embrace the opportunities and challenges that every design brief presents, and aspire to create design solutions that are both innovative and experiential, whilst still meeting our client's needs.
I enjoy being a part of the creative outlet that is Design Gallery to explore the possibilities of design.”

“With previous experience in administration and a major interest in interior design, I was thrilled to begin working at Design Gallery in May 2009. Having recently commenced training in the office, I will have a Certificate IV in Business by the end of 2010. After postponing my studies in Interior Design at QUT, it was ideal for me to find a position in the industry. Previously working as an office administrator for 1 year, I found Design Gallery and have continued improving my knowledge of both administration and the interior design world.
My experience with Design Gallery has been nothing but wonderful, and I am very excited to see where the future leads us.”
