About This Project
Project location: Burpengary QLD
2021 I 45m2 I
For Chairman’s second location within the new Burpengary Station Village development, our client was eager to push the boundaries of the common barbershop aesthetic. Inspired by the idea of masculine indulgence, the barbershop combines properties of residential ensuites with solid materiality and construction detailing to create a unique new brand for Chairman’s.
Inside, a feature stone wall backdrop hosts heavy timber beams that frame a ‘floating vanity’ cutting station and display shelves. Mirrors delicately hang from the timber structure with expressed bolt detailing, while halo lighting illuminates the stone behind. Rendered walls, cushioned booth seating and floating timber shelves are refined elements that soften and complete the space.
We were able to customise the shopfront to reflect adjacent architectural details, making the shop feel integrated into its surroundings, including a coffee window that allows interaction through the shopfront, without the need to enter the store.
